ABOUT ME
I have previously worked in the travel and tourism industry
for over 30 years and this has allowed me a unique insight into meeting different people from amazing backgrounds from all parts of the world in
my travels.
As a client, experiencing therapy for myself it had an immense impact on my relationships with those close to me as
well as my own life. The experience was so nurturing and life-changing that I
realized I wanted to be there for others to help them thrive instead of just
surviving and to help them find the life they deserve but may not know who to achieve.

How do I work?
My approach to therapy is a person-centred one. This is a non-judgmental way of working, where the counsellor creates the right conditions to help someone increase their self-awareness; to move towards – and reach – their fullest potential.
I work with adults of all ages and offer counselling and therapy on a long-term and short-term basis.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for a counselling agency working with clients on a short and long-term basis, supporting them with a wide range of issues within their lives.
BACP Framework
One of the main bodies overseeing the accreditation and registration of counsellors in the United Kingdom is the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor, which means I have met their criteria for qualified and experienced therapists and work in accordance with and abide by their ethical framework.
As a counsellor and therapist, I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I abide by their codes of ethics (BACP Registered Member: 387794 MBACP)
You may not know it, but you’ve already taken the first step…
Choosing to seek professional help can be scary and confusing, but my experience is that people often struggle with mental health issues, crises in relationships, or problems with their families for far longer than is healthy. Friends have been a source of comfort in the past, but their help can only go so far. If you understand that you need something more to resolve a problem, then you have taken your first step towards making your life better.
How I see it...
For the past few years, I have been a counsellor, and I have come to believe that unless a person is truly committed to change and able to put in the effort, then counselling is of limited value. The skill of the counsellor is to help others to help themselves... the client needs to want to receive help and be prepared to act on it.
A fascinating journey begins here…
Therapy is not like going to the doctor to be assessed, measured, or treated. It is a proactive process. It's not enough to have an appointment to take a pill and end the responsibility after that. The journey of counseling and therapy can be rewarding, sometimes confusing, and often revelatory... but they are not passive!
